Double Bay

Ok.. ok.. I'm very slow with the posting.. Just stay tune guys, I'll keep up ;)

It was a Sunday nite, I got a double date dinner in Double Bay, a new restaurant around Menteng area in Hotel F1 ..  I'm very exciting to try..

They combine several unique furnitures with a dim lighting, which somehow gives out a certain rustic ambiance.. Cozy place to chill..

They also have a bar.. Will try their various drinks next time for sure..

The food here is variety, ranging from America, Asian, and even Indonesian.. It's very nice when you try a new restaurants with some people, coz you can have several foods to share..

What I love here is, they serve the breakfast menu all day even on weekdays.. I ordered Morning Burrito (45K)..  My friend might be laughed at me, when I'm ordering breakfast menu for dinner.. But it's lovely though..

It stuffed with creamy scrambled egg and chili minced meat.. I like it, the dish is simple and quite filling..

My bf ordered Pan Fried Dory in Butter Sauce (70K), a pan fried dory on a bed of mashed potato with bacon and their butter sauce.. The dish is delicate, the fish is smooth with crispy outside but I think the sauce is a little too empowering..

For the pasta my friend ordered Wild Mushroom Cream Fettuccine (58K).. I think it's a homemade fettuccine and mushroom sauteed with cream sauce topped with grilled chicken breast.. The sauce was just rite and the chicken was tender, well marinated..

Last but not least a Sicilian Pizza (85K) to share, the pizza here is available with thin crust or regular crust.. We ordered the regular one as the waiter's suggestion.. Surprisingly this pizza was really good, the crust was perfect not too thick, not too thin.. And it comes with generous topping..

When it comes to the food, Double Bay has a great flavor in every dish they serve.. And for the price is still fairly affordable, worth a try!

Remboelan

I'm sorry guys, it took me so long to post this review.. I've been busy lately with my Le Sweets feel free to visit my other blog :)

Back to our food journey.. I went to Plaza Senayan for weekend quite often and I just noticed there's a new restaurant, Remboelan.. Remboelan in Indonesian means a full moon, the restaurant located in 4th floor you should walk the stairs to their dining area..My curiosity dragged me with my bf to give it a try..

Just like its name Remboelan, the place is setting up in circular shape resembles a full moon. Somehow it's feel so romantic, I love the ambiance! It’s a good place to dine with your loved ones and also hang out with your friends..

The restaurant serves a variety of Indonesian soul food..

Browsing their menu, we had such a hard time picking some dishes, everything looks so good!

Also their desserts selection is very tempting..

First to start we ordered Galatin Komplit (35K), it is a baked chicken loaf with their special sauce and its condiments..

I love this gelatine, it well seasoned and go well with the savory sauce.. But the portion is way too small, only got 3 pieces and I prefer they serve it with fried potatoes rather than potato chips..

Followed with Tahu Telor Petis (32K), cubes of tofu fried together with egg, topped with fresh veggies served in shrimp paste soya sauce.. The sauce went well together with the fried egg n tofu..

And Mie Goreng Jawa (35K), Javanese style fried noodle with a sweet savory taste.. Nice, the noodle was not too dry..

Finish off the dinner with sweet ending, Es Remboelan (25K), just like a usual mixed ice.. Nothing special here, but refreshing though.

I love this place, the next week I asked my boyfriend to back here again.. And luckily he also love it being here.. They still got some dishes I wanna try.. So here it is my 2nd visit..

Never skip the tofu dish for me ;).. I ordered Tahu Campur (20K), a fried tofu with fried shrimp fritters served with their special sauce.. I think the sauce is same with their Tahu Telor Petis..

Next is Sate Ayam, a grilled chicken skewers served separately with peanut sauce.. The chicken was well marinated and tender..

Last but not least, my bf ordered Pindang Bandeng (if i'm not mistaken, coz I lost the receipt).. I'm not fancy this kind of fish (Bandeng/Milkfish) but my bf enjoy it very much.. He said the soup was flavorful and has a balanced in taste..

The foods seems fairly authentic for what you can get in the mall.. What I love here is, they serve our all dishes together so there's no pause when we enjoying the meals.. A nice place to tickle your taste buds with a tasty Indonesian home-cooked dishes..
